CS 31HB.37 Fasteners

ED Decision 2009/005/R

1. Fasteners (e.g. bolts, pins, screws, karabiners, fuel cell straps) used in the structure must conform to approved specifications. (See AMC 31HB.37)
2. Locking methods must be established and documented.
3. Unless a joint is free from relative movement, secondary locking means must be used.
4. Self-locking nuts may not be used on bolts that are subject to rotation in service.

Approved specifications in the sense of these requirements are the standards described in the AMC 31HB.33(a).
